New to Elim?
Walking through the doors of a church can be intimidating. What will the service be like? How should I dress? What kinds of songs will be sung? Hopefully these FAQ's will give you a better feel for who we are and what we're about. We want your visit to Elim to be as comfortable as possible.
Where do I park?
Parking is available on-site. There is a small gravel lot on the north side of the church, with additional space available along 141st Ave. on the east edge of the property. The main entrance is on the east side of the church.
What is the dress code?
We're pretty casual, so our motto is "come as you are." On a typical Sunday morning you'll find a mix of jeans, dresses, t-shirts, suit coats, and everything in between.
What does your worship service look like?
Our church services are relatively informal. Each week we pray, read Scripture, worship in song, & hear a message from God's Word. Most weeks there is also a special message for the kids! Our singing is a blend of traditional hymns & modern worship songs, led by a gifted team of musicians. We generally keep our service times to an hour. Most weeks a short kids sermon is included in the service as well.
Is childcare available?
Yes, we have a staffed nursery in the basement.
Will I have to give money?
No. There is no expectation of giving for guests. The church is supported financially (in its entirety) by the generous giving of our members, who do so freely and out of gratefulness for God's provision.
Can I take Communion?
We practice open communion, which means you do not have to be a member of our church to participate. The only requirement is that you trust in Jesus Christ alone for your salvation and believe that He forgives all of your sins. It is our tradition to serve the elements to those who have been properly instructed through Confirmation. Children are still encouraged to come forward to receive a blessing.
